Transmission

Good morning, I am new to this group, I have a 1986 4wd 2.9l ranger and I intend to change the transmission since the transfer I have is electric and I want it to be manual, a mechanic told me that there is a mazda transmission with manual transfer that you could have, how true is that? Thanks for your comments

You can just swap transfer cases without the need to change the transmission.

Someone can correct me if I am wrong, but I believe all the the RBV's have the same transfer case pattern for 4x4 vehicles.
