- My credo
- What's the worst that could happen?
When I was putting my engine back together a couple of years back, I replaced the trans shift cable. At the top of the cable where it attaches to the end-of-column shift lever, it uses a "ball and socket" type connection. The socket is on the cable and the ball is on the lever.
As I recall, the socket kind of snapped over the ball. Apparently that socket doesn't wear well because mine is now not snapping on the ball any longer - it;s just hanging on and falling off whenever I shift up into park. Kind of a PIA.
Anyone have any ideas on how I might fix this? I could wire it together I suppose or get a new cable ($70).
Just curious if anyone hadda get creative and fix theirs.
thanks
