Transmission rebuild

I have taken apart my 1994 b2300's transmission (a4ld) for a rebuild im runing into a few things i am not familar with my over drive drum is missing 4 return spring, is it suppose to be this way ? also i am wondering how many clutch steels and friction plates go in each drum. this is my first rebuild so i apologize for my lack of terms but i can provide a better description if needed :icon_confused:

The terms you are using are correct. Yes, missing springs are normal. They are left out according to application and engine size also the clutch pack stack ups vary on the same principal. Replace the amount you removed. You will also find different pinion counts on the planetary gears.
