tranny swap? please help

I blew my transmission last night in my 1985 bronco ii 5sp manual 4wd. I can get a tranny out of a 87 ranger 2wd blue tag on tranny says: e77a 7003 afa, will it work and if so is it just a staight bolt on?

If you want the bronco to be 2 wheel drive then yes.

4wd and 2wd won't interchange too easily. The 4wd has the transfer case hanging off the end of the trans and you would have to swap parts into the 2wd to make it the same fit. You could fit the 2wd by getting the right length driveshaft but you lose 4wd capability.
