I have an 87 with a five speed, well four and an OD, and I'm trying to figure out what kind of fluid I'm supposed to use. The auto store said to use dexron/mercon. I think that's the spelling anyway, is this right?

I think it takes gear oil..that's what the 5spd in my 87 BII takes. It's an FM145

Thanks for the link! The sticker on the door says,"trans D" so since it says that and going off the chart it's says to use 80-90w gear lube right?

yes, you'll burn the trans up if you use atf in a trans meant to use gear oil.
