tranny conversion on 4.0 ranger

i have a 96ranger xlt with the 4.0..runs great except the tranny i just put in shit out and i hear the automatics always have the same problems so im thinking about goin to a manual i was wondering what all parts i would need that arent there since im sure sumone on here has done it i know ill need new pedals and a slave cylinder but i was wondering about flywheel and other parts will the transfer case i have now bolt up its the borgwarner 1354 anyways sumone plz reply that knows what to do its my only vehicle and i have to get it moving again also i get a miss randomly and its due to emissions im pretty sure its the egr valve anyone know a simple fix without replacing it?? THANK YOU

Holy cow! I can't believe you said that all in one sentence.

Best way to go is with a donor. That way you'll get all the parts/pieces you'll need to make the swap. If you piece it together the junk yards will nickel and dime you to death.

adsm08 the motor runs fine it just wont move cuz the tranny, besides wanting to know about what i need for the tranny i asked about a way to fix the egr valve without replacing it or if its better to just get a new one

and ruffinit i kno my grammar isnt too strong when im typing i just like to get it over with haha...but i live in the northern panhandle of wv and and im trying to find a donor of the same year but im wondering also how hard is it to swap and what all would need swapped? ive read articles saying the computer will need swapped needs a different flyweel and other things but im no master mechanic or expert on these trucks so i need some help
