My truck is at 207000km, low rust for here... It has a rebuilt transmission put in at 165000km... It has the 4.0 ohv, 5r55w (I think) and 4x4 with manual locking hubs... The engine has a small oil leak, not enough to drip on the floor of my garage...front diff would need new seals at some point, small oil leak there too... The a/c needs some work...
The thing I'm debating right now is low miles units are getting rare over here. I think the ranger or b4000 is the right size truck, I can do some maintenance on it.. I won't be able to afford a new one.
There is a 2007 ranger, 4.0 sohc, m5od, 4x4 with only 65000km on it, the dealer wrote that the po was a 60 years old man. Looks really clean and rust free.
Do I get a loan and buy it? Before there is no more low miles rangers of that era? Or do I keep on maintaining my 98 b4000 until it dies.... And then what?...
