I have a torsen carrier from a 2007 fx4 offroad in pieces that I would like to use on my own truck. I tried to put them together but I can't figure it out just too many gears lol
I've searched on google how to reassemble that carrier but cant' find anything.
ideas? any pictures of document or video anything...?
thanks.

Here is what the Chilton manual says.

The TORSEN® limited slip differential is not to be disassembled and a new differential must be installed if worn or damaged.

Don't you love that?

A 2007 Torsen carrier is not going to fit into your 2010,

You have disc brakes and 28 spline axles, the Torsen has 31 spline axles.

As far as I know there are no 31 spline axles for the disc brakes

lol really? then how did they got it assembled?
no wonder I can't figure out how to get the gears together and shove that into the casing it just doesn't make sense then again I'm like then how did they assemble it in the first place? because the casing is plain it's not 2 halves they welded together...
weird.

I think the way to do is it to put everything on the table then turn the casing and put it on the assembled parts on the table like putting on a shirt. I've tried and it's not so simple I think I'll need more hands to keep all parts together.
thanks.

Apparently you can change carrier bearings and pinion bearings and the gear assemblies and set it up like a conventional rearend. But as far as the spider/ torsen part of it, it stays together and no parts are available for it. I guess that is why there is no parts break down or assembly instructions.

lets see some pics of those pieces

supposedly the gears are precision matched sets. mixing them up may not be a good idea.

My credo
God’s plan, not mine.
If you wanna sell it, let me know.

I know how to get it back together.

I did get them to go back into the casing lol it's like playing a big complicated game of puzzle works best with 2 people but I did it alone. without the carrier cover everything turns as soon as I put the cover on, it compresses the springs so by hand I can no longer turn the gears but I'm 99.99% sure I got it lol I'll post a picture later on.
