Torque specs??

rod caps
Main caps
oil pump
and oil pickup tube.

Connecting rod nut = 19-24 ft lb

Main caps = 65-75 ft lbs

Oil pump case bolts = 6-10 ft lb

Oil pump pick up tube to pump = 6-10 ft lb

Oil pump pick up tube at main ( nut ) = 12-15 ft lb

Heads: Tighten the head bolts in three steps: first to 22 ft lbs, second to 51-55 ft lbs, then turn the bolt 90 degrees from the resting position after final torque and your done.

Valve cover bolts = Tighten in sequence to 3 - 5 ft lbs.

Crankshaft Pulley bolts = 85-96 ft lbs

Flywheel to Crankshaft Bolts = 47-52 ft lbs

Intake Manifold bolts = Tighten in five steps and in sequence: first to 3-6 ft lbs, second to 6-11 ft lbs, third to 11-15 ft lbs, fourth to 21-25 ft lbs, fifth again to 21-25 ft lbs after the engine has warmed up.

Upper intake bolts = Tighten all bolts in sequence to 7 ft lbs. Then to 15 - 18 ft lbs.

Exhaust Manifold to head bolts = 20-30 ft lbs.

Oil pan to block bolts = Tighten in sequence to 5 - 8 ft lbs.

Front engine cover bolts = 13 - 16 ft lbs.

Cam shaft sprocket = 19-26 ft lbs

Cam shaft thrust plate = 13-16 ft lbs

Throttle body = 6-10 ft lbs.

Intake manifold to cylinder block stud = 10-12 ft lbs.

thanks man thats just what i needed.
gonna get to work tomorrow putting in my rod bearings and oil pump. popped the main caps off to look at the main bearings and they looked great. but my rod bearings were pretty worn.

I'd replace the mains while your there so you don't regret it later.
While you have it out invert the cam shaft thrust plate as well so it will actually keep the oil going where it needs to go LOL! May want to think about taking a look at those cam bearings too. Known failure points :(

ill check the cam bearings for sure. and i plan on inverting the thrust plate. i wanted to replace the main bearings but my pops is the one funding it and he seems to think they dont need to be replaced. so if something happens and the motor goes south its on him not me. when my head gasket blew i told him that we should just rebuild the motor since its an old truck and we dont know how many miles are on it. he says nah its still good. and now we've already spent well more then it would have cost to just rebuild it. i love working on cars so if i gotta pull it again it wont even bother me.

i told him that we should just rebuild the motor since its an old truck and we dont know how many miles are on it. he says nah its still good. and now we've already spent well more then it would have cost to just rebuild it. i love working on cars so if i gotta pull it again it wont even bother me.
i said the same thing to my pops about the 302 in mine, good thing i did too.

its well known knowledge but dont over tourque anything cuz you could end up with broken parts you didnt know could break

If the valve cover bolts were tightened to 8ft pounds is that bad someone did mine. Have a 2.8v6
