I bought my OBX's dirt cheap but new in box from a friend scrapping his unfinished project.

Is the flange just not flat? I have a set in a box but haven't attempted to check them. Stupid blown engine...
A little bit of the flange being warped and little bit of the flanges no meeting square to one another.

I was thinking about making a set based on the cast manifolds for space reasons. I haven't gotten around to it yet though.

Literally just got my set of TM’s that I ordered in April. This covid has really made supplies we take for granted come to the surface. I know this is mainly a ranger forum, but thought I would share the pics. DEFINITELY worth the wait. Best build quality ever, awesome ceramic coated. Any questions, feel free to ask. Oh, it’s for putting a 2000 explorer 5.0 awd drivetrain ( not the awd xfer case tho) in my 01 Sport Trac 4x4

not to rain on your parade but the picture shows one port being flush to the flange & the other port a bit raised due to the weld.
please let us know if it seals correctly..........

pictures can be deceiving, lay a straight edge across the flange to check that all the ports are even & to be sure the flange is straight.

Actually it is super high quality!! Having a slight raised bead is pretty standard. This was not an oversight. Time was taken to go back and put a 1/64 bump around the ports.

I was told 4 weeks, we r at 5 now, still no headers, won't respond to emails or phone calls. I was very clear with him when ordering to make sure 4 weeks, he even said they will be done in 4 weeks even if I have to build them myself.

I odered a set back in May . Have had numerouse emails sent back & forth with several missed delivery dates. Put in a claim with Paypal & got my money back. decided to go withMaximizer Stainless headers instead. Should be here in a week or 2. I really wanted the TM headers but can't wait anymore. Will post pictures up whe I get them & will advise fit & finish .

Sorry, to hear about the delays. I had basically the same experience. I was actually waiting for the headers to complete my engine installation. Several weeks went by, with no response. I was actually starting to wonder if the whole site was a scam. After almost 3 months, I got a call. Actually very nice fella. He explained this was basically his side job, and he doesn’t rush, also acquiring correct materials was becoming a HUGE issue due to covid ramping up considerably in early June. He finally convinced me to install the motor, and that the headers are an exact drop in replacement. I almost literally forgot about them being on order. It was a few months later they arrived. For me it was a huge pain to have to “re-do” work that could have been done all at once.

This being said, and the pain and misery is behind me, I am absolutely completely satisfied with the work, fitment, etc. In the end I am glad I waited for a TRUE, tested, custom built set of headers for my exact application. I don’t know the fella personally at all, but came to realize these are older vehicles, and there is not exactly a HUGE demand for this gentleman to quit his day job, and do this full time. In talking with him, I realized he was an enthusiast, and takes great pride in his work. His motto seems to be quality, not quantity. Hey, if you need them now, then do what you feel is necessary. I just bit the bullet, and waited for that quality. I would rather buy it nice, than buy it twice. There are OBX copies out there you could probably get in a week. From everything I read, they seemed to be more trouble with them than it was worth. Maybe those Maximizer ones are just as good, maybe even better. Im just trying to give the members above an honest snapshot of my journey, so you can make an informed decision based on just my experience. Keep us posted either way, and I hope each of you ultimately reach your goals, one way or another.

Got a response claims two more weeks. I'm not doubting his quality, his day job, or anything other than lying to a paying customer. Do not tell me a time frame, miss it, then avoid my calls. I requested a 50% down, 50% when they r ready to ship. Got refused. I'm old fashion, live in the south where a man's word (especially to an upfront paying customer) is very important. He told me he is trying to get a larger scale manufacturing process going, that itself is being delayed. So in short I believe he counted his eggs b4 they were hatched or even layed for that matter. Nevertheless I'm waiting, not so patiently.
