Let me start by saying I am no computer wiz and I run ubuntu .That being said this is a relatively small problem -sometimes when I log onto TRS there seems to be a couple of pages of new posts and I will troll them for a little bit then get an idea and go back out on the net then come back just a few minutes later and the new post list is down to TEN or less ,is there a way to keep the list long? thanks

new tab for wandering out onto the rest of the web :icon_rofl:

im not sure why it does that but i get the same thing i think it marks posts as being read after you click off the page and anything new that you see is what has been updated since you last clicked off the page

They're "new" since your last login. Or last visit, however you would like to phrase it.

Yeah I get the same thing too.

It's apparently a setting somewhere in the vBulletin forum software, which there's nothing you can do on your end.
I've noticed most vB boards assume you've "left" after 15 minutes of "inactivity" (which apparently does not include typing (composing) your post, or reading a very long page in a thread :annoyed: ), however over on ExplorerForum, it seems you get at least an hour or more before it self-marks everything 'read' for you.

One workaround might be to set up a browser window to where it automatically reloads a page (such as the main forum index page or something) every 10 minutes, which should keep your login session active. Maybe there's a Firefox extension that can do this? I haven't really looked into it.

There certainly is an app for that. Tapatalk keeps the list just shy of 400 topics....
