I'm thinking about getting one....

Do you people who have them like them?

Do they help on fuel? I have a '92 2wd extended cab.

Thanks!

I got a tri fold soft tonneau cover on my Ranger and like mine and really don't know if it helps save on fuel and if it does, it is not much.

I had a soft cover on my truck for a while, and I was doing a lot of driving in those years. It did help with fuel a bit, bumped me about 1 MPG, a little less than 5% when they advertised 10% fuel savings, when I was doing about 300 miles a week, all highway. Obviously it will help less in city or low speed conditions.

I got it because I was moving back and forth from school a lot and my truck was all I had, so I was frequently travelling in the rain and needing to keep clothes and stuff in the bed. It was nice for keeping things dry and out of sight. Some days I think about getting another one, but with the tool box in there I don't think I'll find one short enough.

i never cared for them. They seem to be more of a pain than anything. you always have to roll it up out of the way if you want to put anything taller than 2 feet in your bed. the snaps can be a pain because they can corrode and become hard to operate, not to mention theres about 40 snaps or so. the hard covers dont offer much if you need to haul a fridge or something. they only lift about 2 ft at the rear when opened. So they are nice if you never plan on using your bed. if thats the case then why have a truck?
