This is why I bought snow blowers. The initial investment sucked but the greatly reduced back pain and less time out in the cold have been worth it.We had around 8" here, compressed a bit afterwards with a bunch of sleet on top. Heavy, nasty stuff to shovel. Between my parents house and a couple of other places to shovel, my back is not going to forgive me for a couple of days.
HOA at my girlfriend's house handles the street long before the county gets there. But that also meant everything got shoved up against the driveway before anyone could shovel out. That project alone was several hours.

I have a 2-stage for the heavy work and a single stage for mop up. Very little needs shoveled anymore.
I still spent 4 hours clearing snow yesterday but it was because I helped out the neighbors.
