I was looking over a TK5 I just got and have a question. Whe I grab the input shaft near where it goes into the flywheel and wiggle side to side it moves a lot. If I grab it right by the bearing and do the same there isn’t much play at all. So the shaft doesn’t have much radial movement but seems to have some angular movement. Is the bearing a self aligning ball that allows for slight angular misalignment? It would sort of make sense with the other end of the shaft being held by the engines main bearing. I have no idea the mileage on the trans as the gauge cluster was gone from the truck I pulled it out of. I’m good with rebuilding it if I need to, but aside from that it seems very tight. Gears look good, no abnormal wear, no visible metal in the oil or anywhere else.
