Tire recommendations for my 1987 Ranger project

I am working on a 1987 Ranger 4X4 project. I have painted it anvil grey (a Jeep color.) I like the blacked-out look and have powder coated the outside trim, bumpers and 15" wheels. I am also working on a red interior. What 15" tires would look good with this design? I probably won't use it for serious off-road trips but use it in snow during the winter. I don't want tires that are so aggressive that road noise is a problem. Thanks!

Most "off-road" agressive tires are not great in snow. I would stick with a good all weather highway tire if you don't wanna get dedicated snow tires. The new Michelin cross climate tires are supposed to be awesome in the snow but still good long lasting tires for winter and summer, dunno what sizes are available though.

You could perhaps look at the Firestone Destination AT. A friend of mine had them on his XJ Cherokee (235/75R15) and as I recall, they were not a loud tire and he swore by them in the snow. The Goodyear Wrangler Trailrunners also seem like a decent tire (at a decent price), which I may end up putting on my XJ when the time comes.

There are plenty of ATs out there that would finish the look of the truck nicely. Plus, you can get very decent mileage out of some of them.

I vote for BFG all terrains.

Nice looking truck! I've been using BFG All-Terrain on mine for the past 6 years. Weekly round trips of 100 miles. Mine are 33's which won't fit without serious lift or fender cutting but I also had the stock size on my BII and road noise is not a problem (or maybe I can't hear it with the V8).

The BFG's will give a little road noise (had them on an S-10 Blazer), as will the General Grabber AT's (similar tread, have them on my 09 Ranger), but they are a more aggressive all terrain tire.

I know Michelin made a decent tire, I think it was called the LT/X.

Grrrrrrrrr they don't make these in 15"! I really wanted these! They are the only true severe snow service tire ever made with a 60,000 mile warranty of a regular highway tire.

I haven't really noticed any road noise with them on my truck, the solid white lettering gives it a retro look too (like BFG AT)

Snow is fun to play in. I do not take mine on the street when snow is on the ground though, just my field and road that the county barely knows exists.

AKA no salt/brine etc.
