Timing cover b2300/ranger 2.3

I'm trying to replace the crankshaft position sensor on my 94 b2300 so far I understand I need to remove the steering pump bracket to get to the timing cover. My question is do I need to pull the whole steering pump out or will the bracket come off if I pull the pully. Any help is much appreciated.

ive loosened all the bolts holding p/s bracket to block and moved it out of the way just enough to remove the cover before. It would be the one good thing about having manual (no power steering). Ive never tried removing the p/s pully before

Thanks I've got 2 bolts out on the bracket I can't seem to find the 3rd

I'm just tossing a wild guess here Roger, it could maybe be coming in from another angle, more of an adjuster lock

Thanks I'll check it out tomorrow and see what I can't find. Probably wouldn't hurt to clean a little dirt off the dam thing and see what it really looks like

Just to fill everyone in on what I got going on it was throwing a code for ignition circuit fault running real bad sputtering no power. I confirmed it was the icm replaced it new plugs new wires and O2 sensor. Once I ran diagnostic the codes for the ignition were clear but now its throwing a code 211. Runs great in neutral but when it's in gear it runs like the timings off sputtering and loss of power. I'm guessing crankshaft position sensor since it seems to be getting plenty of gas. From what I understand the camshaft sensor is more about gas function. Got a new crankshaft sensor and timing belt on the way just trying to figure out the best way to go about replacing

Are you using an OBDI reader? Mind sharing what kind you got?

I just used a jumper wire on the connector under the hood near the fuse panel and the codes flash on the CEL learned it on you tube

Shouldn't have to take off the pulley or power steering pump. You will, however, have to remove the 4 bolts holding the AC compressor and get it out of the way ( I usually suspend it from my hood with a rope or wire ) to gain access to one of the 3 bolts holding that bracket onto the motor
