Currently rebuilding my 2001 3.0 and in the process of installing a new timing chain I bumped the camshaft and now I'm not sure of the sprocket position. I know I should have marked them but hindsight is 20/20. Any info or pictures would be helpful. Thanks.

My credo
If it ain't broke, break it.
Both cam and crank sprockets should have timing marks stamped on them.

Replacing my chain and sprockets during timing cover gasket replacement. Similar issue, my dots are off. How does one go about adjusting them to the proper location?

grab a big pair of pliers and rotate the cam gear. it gets a bit "jumpy" as the lobes pass the lifters.
same for the crank, use whatever you can that doesn't damage the crank snout if it's exposed.
if the engine compression is fighting you just go an inch or so at a time.

don't turn the crank by the outer ring on the harmonic balancer,,,it's attached with rubber and can be screwed up.
not common, but possible.
