I went back and looked at the original pictures of the truck... she was rough!

Seeing the chassis with powertrain in place... nice job.

I'm just curious how you get the body worthy of the new chassis... Rock on!

I cheated a bit. I bought a rust-free cab from California and had it shipped to me. We will be installing it in the next couple of weeks.

In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.

I bet the post office loves you.

Toonces drives a Ranger . . . . just not very well.
I think you made a good call on getting a nicer cab. "Rock on!" X 2, and keep the updates coming!

What's the going rate for a nice, rust free, California 2nd gen cab?

I paid $1000 for mine.
Well worth it...fixing rust as bad as yours (and mine) is really ends up being a drag. I did just the dog legs on my Explorer and I had weeks into that mess.

Was that $1000 shipped? Curious what shipping on a cab is. I had about $250 into a pair of box sides for my F150.

What are you doing for the rest of the sheet metal?

Yes, that was $1000 shipped. I bought a bed off of another guy a couple of years ago, I plan to use it. My doors are good.

The old cab and bed went bye-bye today. School is out and I can get back to work on her!

Probably some mixed emotions on that trailer...

Glad she is gone but damn I'm gonna miss her thing.

I have a race this weekend and then I am free for about a month. I will be back at it. My cab mounts and hardware will be here on Saturday so we may get the cab back on the frame this week!

I have hauled away a bunch of them that looked like that. It's never easy. The one that really got me was a nice, and I mean NICE second gen cab... z e r o rust anywhere but I couldn't get a title for it. Kept the floor for patch panels.

with out factoring in sentimental value, what do you suppose your truck will be worth after all is done?

Whatever the book value is, probably not much but it will be almost new and paid for.

Installing the fuel tank and lines today. I want to try to get all that type of stuff complete before we put the cab on and it is in the way. The exhaust will be here in a couple of days.
