Here is a 2011 T6 Ranger from over seas that the new North American truck is based on:

I don't mind the letters, it helps break up the huge tailgate.

F-150 and GM also have the upkick in the rear door too, it is kind if a common thing.
Actually I think the letters being highlighted or painted doesn't look that bad, wouldn't mind it.

Either you believe these vehicles have the exact same door stampings or you have no idea how stamping works. Either way you way off base.
What I see is very similar designs queues on the back door sheet metal at the bottom of the window that crosses a couple diff manufacture's, is it just the
'in thing' in design or some other reason I have no idea.
Same thing with the tailgate design stampings again seems to be the new
'in thing'.

The SN95 and new edge Mustangs had something similar that spelled out Mustang, Mustang GT and Cobra, they make all kinds of decals and inserts to put in the letters.

I like both of the 1st gen panels I have on my '86 and '87 but in all honesty I still prefer the basic tailgate like my F150 has.
