Why can't members post in the proper areas? Or Management move more posts to proper areas?

I thought this area was for projects and builds....

cheers

(starting to look sloppy in here)
Don'[t worry Angie, you aren't the only one that has a problem with it. I mentioned it over in the site problems section a few months ago.

I've been here for a while and even I don't understand what each section of the forum is actually for so hard to really blame the new people coming in for help. If they don't end up in the wrong place they just end up in the general section...
Don't worry, reading comprehension isn't a requirement to be a forum member.

I never look at the section I just hit the new posts button...
That explains a lot, you'd have to actually look at the section to understand what its about. The sub-forum titles are pretty dang descriptive and if you go into a sub-forum is gives a description right at the top. IE:

General Discussions

This forum is for general discussions. If you're in need of help, post it below in the appropriate topic forum.
1983-2011 Ford Ranger Mini Trucks

Instagram and facebook are ok, but it's hard for people to follow your build and the details. Show of your trucks, or post your build threads here.

This is NOT a help forum. Post your questions in the Help Forums further down
Pay particular attention to the last line of that second one!

I don't believe that I have ever hit the new posts button. I come to the forum, scroll down and read what posted. If it interests me or I have input I want to add, I do so. If it's posted in the wrong section I generally keep scrolling.

You scroll through every single forum and sub section every time you look for new threads/posts? :icon_confused:

More or less. I scroll through those that I'm interested in every time. If I have no interest in it, I don't bother.

This one, General Discussions, 83-11 off road trucks, rare RBVs, 2.8L, V8 swaps, 2wd suspensions and frame, brakes, wheels and tires I hit up almost every time. Styling and electrical section and non truck discussions on occasion.

Most of the rest I have little interest in or do not pertain to me. Used to read 4.0L a lot, but I'd rather have nothing to do with that engine (or truck) anymore, so I don't often look there. Generally these days if it doesn't pertain to a first gen (that's 83-88 first gen) I'm not very interested.

Will I miss threads that could interest me by being that way. I'm sure I will, but it's because they weren't posted in the correct section. You can see my last post as to what I think about those.

Many times moderators view the forums using their phones. This site looks and feels different on a phone vs. and actual computer. Some of the functions are difficult to see and correct using a phone or tablet also. I also feel that most of the posts that get started in the wrong forum are by our newest members. They really aren't sure how the place works (although it is pretty clear in the forums main page). All they know is the vehicle is broke and most times just post in the first place that seems to "fit"... because they really just want some advice from experienced people such as you.

@Angie @JoshT and anyone else that reads this... there is a way you can help get this type of post moved to the correct forum. If you simply report the post and state that it is in the wrong forum... the moderators will see a red flag and we have to open it and provide a solution to the report. Pretty simple and all of you can become part of the solution and help us keep TRS flowing the way it was intended.

I Haven’t been on much. Life took a bad turn for me so I lost all interest in everything. But I’ll try to take some time to clean up.
