Question 98 ranger 2wd ??? v8 year needed

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
sorry admins but this is a project im trying to nextweek and need to go pick some parts this weekend while it will be a muddy mess at the yard snows all gonna melt and its gonna be so muddy but this is on my mind

alright Im new well I posted once I got my 98reg cab 6ft bed 4 banger ranger

im looking to put a djm lowering kit 4/5 plus c notch on it which I have sitting in boxes in my garage haven't opened anything yet don't want to lose anything

and looking to put on the 02 chrome top edge bumper with fogs which I just seen on this site wondering what the years range on the edge to bolt right on my 98 I will be going to the pickand pull aka junkyard

but I m looking at axles at the moment what years am I looking for ?
I know there will be a L in factory axle tag for limited slip which is needed but im looking for disc brakes too but ill be getting that at the pick and pull to
just so

I can get it sitting just right knocking down the weeds haha and well I have some helping hands during this holiday

but with them ?'s above is in my plans to do this holiday break in the garage
so I need answers asap and thank you for all advise

but I got clear corner lens bed rail covers grill insert taillights to put on just sitting here in boxes o and new leaf springs as well as the whole djm kit its not much but its a start for my master plan anywho

now questions about removing control arms does my kit here have new nuts and bolts washers u know the whole 9 or do I need to get a grocery list to ford like bed bolts chamber bolts arm bolts shackle bolts shackles themselves ?

basically hardware ill need in live in Pittsburgh we got some nasty rusted autos here and well I know I need new u bolts regardless because of different width of axle tube but I would like in site please

and will I need to relocate the shock mounts on the explorer axle?

like do I need new e brake cables? if so do I get ranger or explorer
since ill be going from drum to disc
I am aware of new brake lines that's a given

all in all im looking for what year explorer to put in my 98 ranger
I plan on swapping seats dash and everything from the explorer into the ranger
like my ranger don't even have a/c now and well plan on getting it with the swap

but im looking to stay rwd only and should I just get a 2wd explorer? what year too?

like im trying to just find a complete running explorer right now instead of buying the rearend I might as well just pick up the whole damn truck but then again I might not find one in time and for a decent price before my holiday break

so please give me insight thank you
if you need any more info let me know too im game to hear it

I am a disabled veteran got a cool license plate to prove it haha or should I say hohoho

ya i would like to find a 2wheel drive v8

:icon_cheers:if I could find a 2 wheel drive v8 around I would just buy the whole auto
but all I can find is the 4 wheel and well if im buying a transmission I might as well just throw a stroked v8 with a carb or 2 on it

but im looking for something to swap
everything including door panels dash and seats like is this possible
I know the wiring harness and computer will be included but u know
project danger ranger is nearing close now

but right now im looking to lower this mini
I got the djm kit 4/5 and the c notch
I also got new new hd springs which got a extra leaf
so I can still tow with it without much to much sag
but also looking to weld a steel plate above rear axle and behind
to help keep the springs under a little tension on the springs
while empty
also looking at mounting fuel cell and battery in back of bed

ive owned a 5.0 mustang and know I need weight on the rear tires or they will just break loose

but all in all
im looking to lower the ranger over the holiday break
and well need to get a rear end asap
I can pick up bolts any day hope the djm kit came with new bolts for the control arms
just wonder if ill have to replace the caliper mount bolts and all that goodstuff

but yes I already looked into bed bolts and shackle and pivot bolts for the leaf springs o and u bolts they got everything in stock ty baby jesus

but please help I haven't turned a bolt yet and guessing im gonna need to heat most of them up

but yes im gonna wire wheel everything I can and rustulom black everything under carriage wise

make it look nice a pretty and hopefully make it last another 15
go ford

now different gears and and I guess im looking at 97-01 explorer rears
