but it seems only my old "home" forum is hanging by a thread. Looking at all the introductions here, and activity on another Ranger forum, at least Ranger owners have somewhere to go.
I'm from Louisiana, and it's good to be here. Own a '94 XLT that is mostly original, with about 175,000 miles on it. New radiator, gas tank, and computer were all installed about 13 or so years ago. Only some body panels have been changed due to accidents. Me and sons are looking to do some work and replace worn parts to get it running again.

Thank you.
RonD do you use the same handle on other Ranger-related discussion sites?
I have the lowly 2.3 liter engine. But it has served me well for most of its 25 years (bought new in April of 1995)

Toonces drives a Ranger . . . . just not very well.
Welcome! In my opinion, the 2.3L is a great engine (my favorite, actually).

I have a '94 2.3 XLT, too. It gave me almost 400k miles before it finally got tired, and I had to turn it into a yard ornament. Still have it, and one of these days I plan on going through it and putting it back on the road. I consider the '94 models to be one of the best years for Rangers.

Welcome! If you have a sense of humor and like wierdos this is definitely the ranger forum to be on. Easily the least "stuffy" forum I've ever been a part of.

Well, I belong to forums for all five of my vehicles. And for the most part, all of them are doing swell. The one for the B-King is a tad slow. But there's usually a few posts every day. LightningRodder.com going strong. M109Riders as well. Stang.net. At LightningRodder, been seeing an influx of people deleting their posts and quitting Fakebook. LMAO!!

Welcome to TRS.

If this gains traction, I think the forums will be ok. If you hadn't noticed, the car and truck OEM's do not want you to be able to work on and repair the vehicle you bought. Ford is especially bad about this.

Forums are a much better knowledge base than those asocial medias. Much easier to search.

FB is a product of its time : showing the here and now, filled with useless trolls and barely moderated.

IMO, the one event that sent many forum users on FB pages is the cash grab attempt by Photobucket many years ago, where they blocked all images linked to their site unless you had a paying account. That essentially killed at lot of knowledge and howtos on online forums.

Yet, we're still here. When you search online for a solution to a vehicle problem, you're much more likely to find a related forum post than a FB page.

Welcome here by the way. For my part I have a 2006 2WD 3.0. It has definitely not been the most reliable vehicle I ever owned, but I found many solutions here and it's still hauling stuff after 14 years (10 in my ownership).

Mine has definitely had it's share of problems in the 20 years I've owned it. Almost all fixed by yours truly. One of the reasons I keep it. Only one I couldn't fix was flashing the new computer in January 2017.
