$4k won't get you a decent Ranger of that vintage currently. $11k is asking price, there should be a little negotiation (the trick is not to go too low and offend the seller).
My go to is “interested, but my max is $xxx. Keep me in mind.”

that’s if my offer is considerably low and I don’t mind it getting away. It rarely works, but it has worked.

I recently looked at a rat of a truck. I Listed for $15k.Was straight up honest and said the ad looked like a $10k truck. He took it. Got there and I truly thought it was a $5k truck. I haggled with him like a non interested bystander and he dropped asking price to $10k but he didn’t agree on $5k. He may have been right cause the listing was taken down a couple days later.

It really wasn’t a rat, but I’ve never had a diesel so I’m pretty particular about the condition of the engine. I am keeping myself overly critical of these trucks so I don’t get attached. I probably wouldnt hear a rod knock on a diesel cause they are so clattery as it is.

When did Dodge re-design the Trucks (94?). I cant believe that prehistoric design even made it into the 90's. Looks like a early 70's model to me.

20 years difference and not much changed.
Without any looking up, I want to say 1994.5? That’s when the 24v came out. Has some big improvements. It really is ancient looking. I like it.

Edit: Yep. 93 to 94. Not sure about the relationship between the D series and the 1x00 series and such, but this is one heckuvu update for the 1500.

Picked up this beautiful lady this afternoon. 98k miles, 12v Cummins, 5mt, and purrrrrrrs. Interior is about as mint as can be. The biggest giveaway that it isn’t brand new is the creaky plastic.

Paid $11k. That really seems like a lot, but with zero initial issues of any kind (yay A/C), I think it’s well worth the extra $4k more than I was shooting for. I was hoping for an older body style, but anything remotely “classic” seems to be commanding a premium.

I’m pretty sure they did that when they were brand new.

My dad got the first year dodge long bed extended cab with the 360 v8. I was checking it out and when I popped the hood, everything on the engine said holley. Tb, intake, fuel rails, everything having to do with fuel said holley. And that truck ran great the whole time he had it, which was only till 05 but it would light the tires without even barely revving.

But, so did his 02 3500 dodge with the Cummins and 6 speed

Hope you don't like drinking soda from cans while driving. Friend of mine had a similar truck with the V10, constantly spilled soda on his radio.

My F150 didn't have cup holders, so I had a bad habit of setting my drink on the flat part of the dash. Same result. Lol

the best I’ve had was a manual explorer with center console. Could only have cans and be able to use 2nd, 4th, and R.
