Well, I guess Tractor Supply doesn't want me.

I got canned today.

On the upside, I had an invterview with a mobile shredding company yesterday and talked to three other places today.

Somebody overheard me swear (by accident as I had just locked my keys in my truck) and mentioned it to the manager. Apparently, they're super-stirct on that stuff.

Lame. I routinely swear at my job, only I use 'code'

Example.

Instead of....She's a F**cking B*tch.

Say............She's an aggressive go-getter.

Good luck with the new job!

Wow, I can understand swearing in front of a customer as a career ending move, but in the parking lot? I think that would be a grand extension of their profanity policy that may go contrary to labour laws...

Unless, of course, you happened to have shouted it loud enough to make the plants shake inside...

Hope you find something else fast...I'm still looking myself...got overlooked by an interviewer because I couldn't understand what she was saying...she was jumbling words together and talking so softly that even my super sensitive hearing couldn't discern...

Everything happens for a reason. Somewhere there's an upside that will come from this. You just haven't gotten to it yet.

I think somebody there had it in for you. If I were you I would get a lawyer and see how Tractor Supply reacts to that. Call your old supervisor and tell him that several people told you to hire a lawyer and see how he reacts to that. A lot of people are getting lawyers now if they get fired or layed off. Most of the companies will give a settlement to the fired employee if they feel the employee will go through with a lawsuit. Can't hurt to give it a try!!!

Good luck!!!

my son got fired from a job because of what he had posted on his face book page. As in the 30's there's a 100 waiting for your job.

Jeez. Getting fired for swearing in the parking lot. That's downright lame. I'd do what straycat mentioned and get a lawyer.

I'm not going to let it bother me. They job was going to pay lousey ($8 an hour) and be temp (through the beginning of November.).

I've been working with a temp agency that's been giving my somewhat steady work.

I'd say you are better off not working for a company that uptight.
I think like Jim does; I lost a 5-year contract for new construction [boring but fairly easy money at the time] siding once and it ended up being the push I needed to go into renovations [not boring and sometimes easy money]. Then the downturn in the economy hit and I was well set to keep working.
Really push to do something you like, even if it means less pay at the start. In the long run you'll be much happier and make better money.
Good luck in your search.

Richard
