Ok. I admit it. I'm a Mopar guy.... LOL....

I'm on my third Ram 1500 and I'm absolutely in love with this one. My 07 JKU Rubi has seen better days. Starting to show its age. But hey. Its just a V8 swap away from being completely epic.

I had a bunch of Mopars back in the 70's, great running gear in body slightly less crappy than a Rambler with electrics one notch north of Lucas. A friend who's owned English cars always says "Lucas, prince of darkness" when talking about their electrics. By the way, Dodge is a truck, ram is a male sheep.

LMAO....

I have had a Gremlin. I'm familiar with the crapiness of many AMC products. Also had a '73 CJ5 at one time. Absolutely loved that thing and wish we had never had to let it go. The ole JK is my 4th Jeep and I pretty much swept it off of the delivery truck. The first dealer inventory Rubicon JK in our region. Lots of dealership visits the first year. Nothing since. Other than a water pump, batteries and wiper blades the only extra cost it has given me was the mods. That were not needed. But.... can't leave a Jeep stock.

The truck. I tow stuff. And I love that thing. I've spent a fair amount of time in many brands. They all have highs/lows through the years, but if it's new right now, I'm not a fan of the F-150 or the Silverado. I was actually going to buy a new 2020 Ranger, but for whatever reason that dealership didn't want to deal with me. Funny thing was the Dodge dealer was, and actually had the truck with everything on it if I had been given an order sheet. Right trim. Right interior. Right options. All of them, and nothing I would not have put on it. Other than that I'd rather have an actual set of All Terrain tires on it, it's about perfect. No auto start/stop crap. No leather.

Ford has done a solid job through the years with the F150 and the Mustang in my useless opinion. The rest of their product line has been spotty. The Crown Vic was a durable car that would last for years and possibly survive a nuclear holocaust with the cockroaches, but was a completely boring car otherwise. I couldn't understand why they built/sold the Ranger overseas as we have it now. I'm actually very happy the Ranger is back in the US. I would have had one if the dealership hadn't been all stuck up and crap.

To be fair, as much as we all kid and this being a Ford forum, each brand has it's weak points. It just comes down to which weak point are you willing to accept and deal with.

@PetroleumJunkie412 is willing to deal with a 2.9 so its a pretty low bar for him...

From someone who has been left on the side of the road by Ford, Chevy, Dodge, Nissan, Isuzu, Toyota, Subaru, Honda, Kawasaki, Harley Davidson and Suzuki.... I can accept a lot. So far, though... even at work, a Mopar has not left me on the side of the road since 2002. Nothing is perfect. But I admit that the 1st generation Rangers have always appealed to me, and now I have one. No complaints.

Same here with always having one. Had xjs for jeep, one stockish, other 1997 lifted 6", cragar soft 8's, some 4x4 stuff. Loved that thing. Orange half life lambda on the back glass if anyone has ever seen it. Heard it went to Colorado. But k cars, spirit es, and now srt8 challenger and 53 coronet.

Got the bug for a first gen with my 1988. Then an obsession to figure out why it was a "bad" engine if they were a impressive fast road engine in Europe with a sizeable following. Now there's a 2011 as well.

Now in the middle of a basically balls deep as performance as I can go on a budget build that's making me do stuff like this

DSC_0188.JPG

Because I find out that the guy that wrote the performance book on cologne v6 was one of the creators of viper v10, and gen 3 hemi.

So I figured the best way to understand modern hemi, is to know the engine that it was based on.
