Best 2.3l 2WD manual trans is M5OD-R1(M5R1) from a 2.3l 1988 thru 2001(2.5l) non-detachable bell housing, so only from a 4cyl those years

Your profile says Auto trans?
No 5-speed auto for a 2.8l?
So I just assumed you wanted a manual trans
