I have made some good friends just by saying"nice truck". They usually have stories or want to know mine. Its fun to just chat it up at a gas station about our trucks!

I've done that as well. Even people who don't drive Rangers like my truck. (especally when I haul stuff for them!)

I don't do it to stock ones because people whom drive stock don't care...
Mine is stock except for the radio and I care. If you drove past me and waved, I'd certainly wave back. Maybe what you meant, is that people who drive stock trucks just don't plain care about trucks or cars. When I get my Thunderbird out, I get waves from all the other older classic cars around here.

Yeah it's always nice to know that someone appreciates a nice, clean Ranger. I myself have gotten a few compliments at gas stations while filling up. :D

I like the look of a clean stock ranger.........

My 97 isn't stock but to an untrained eye the suttle touches are hard to catch....

I doubt if anyone would wave or even want to be affiliated with my high-school ranger, it had a deer head mounted on the too short camper shell, bull horns 15ft neon orange whip, grey primer with black sport stripes, 429 emblems, a gun rack complete with gun, a system with 12in subs and no boxes that rolled around the floor (once actually cathching on fire)...... and a (pissin on anti hunters decal across the back)

My truck doesn't look like a Toyota............
and I wave at everybody.... it's what we do round here ya'll understand?

Now when I go to the city I get temp. carpel tunnel syndrome and made fun of by my passengers because we wave at everybody out here!!! because odds are your there neighbor, lol.

But even in Detroit or Nashville, fellow Ranger drivers still get the ol' pointer middle finger flip.

that is what i do when i am in the town i live in , the town i grew up in , and where my dad lives , cuz where dad lives i am related to almost everyone , and everyone know me by my truck , they all say "That's Rex's boy from up in NY"

heck yea, down here in WV we do the same thing. I just make an extra effort to wave at other ranger drivers old or new
my dad lives in WV , about 2 hours from you , people in WV are some of the best people i have ever been around , they could not even know you from a criminal , and they will do whatever they can to help you , that is something that is lost in most states

Everytime I see someone driving a ranger I always wave at em. We should all wave at our fellow ranger drivers because we are like a brotherhood lol

Not very many people wave back at me though...:icon_confused:

Maybe it will catch on eventually...
I know. I'm always waving. Have not gotten a response yet.

dont forget the old minnesota nice:icon_thumby:
winter iv gone out and pulled people from the ditches and snowbanks and never asked anything from them but acnolagment that they know now to drive a bit slower and safer. iv had people offer me just what they had to pay me back for the gas i burned getting them out. one guy in a lexus offered me 300 bucks said i was the only one who stopped outta 20 or so that went by. i told him to keep his money might need it later on and wished him luck and sent him on his way.

Edit: back on topic...i wave at any Ranger i see and look for a TRS sticker. i wave at bout anyone in a truck too.

Isn't that more of just a motorcycle thing? Around here all motorcyclists wave and nod. It's called "the respects". If you don't do it people think you're a dick.

I have a Honda Magna that I'm restoring to be roadable. I don't know the full thing about the 'wave' of cyclists, but I'm not into that unless it's a bike similar to mine. Also, not many people know the capability of an older Super Magna.

As for the rangers,... I'm sad to say that I never see anything other than stock (save for a set of bigger tires because someone wants to "look" badass, but fail at it.)

My truck looks killer, but don't ever see people compliment it in any way. Makes me sad...

Funnily enough when I'm on my enduro I get more waves from the people zipping about on crotch rockets than older people on cruisers.

I wave at the 3 Rangers in town that are the same year as mine and the lightly modded ones. Too many people with new ones don't seem to sare the comraderie the older Ranger owners do.

I wave at other B2 drivers, and Ranger drivers who have actually put work into them.
