Well, when you're the only guy on the block with the goods... You can ask what you like.

I'm
My question is, do they really give the 20 horsepower and 28 ftlb of torque?
Willing to bet the $880 purchase price that they absolutely do not.

There has to be a way to get those cheaper... Can't believe a set from a 302/289/351 wouldn't work, or at least be close enough to be made to work.

You should start lurking on one of the Mustang forums and keep an eye out for a used set of no name 302 roller rockers for cheap. Or create a post on one of those forums asking for a partial set. A lot of guys should have some old ones laying around from when they broke one or two and couldn't buy them individually for replacement..

Just for research and development purposes.

With the extreme ratio change I don't doubt those HP/TQ claims at all.

Hhmm alright. Let me get this straight. You are trying to make rocker arms for a 2.9 that dont have any pressure from the side-loading springs. They just sit in place and rub nothing. But you want it to be a kit??

what about something like this?? if we actually figured out a way to make them work make our own rocker rails like those clowns did. these are cheap enough ya know?.
My first thought - after almost drooling on my keyboard - was lubrication. These roller rockers are lubricated through the push rods, and the 2.9 rockers are not. The pushrods would have to be changed to use these roller rockers anyway (if the ratio and measurements were okay), but would the stock lifters work? Would they supply enough oil? Designing and building custom rocker rails, with new rocker rollers and custom pushrods, would be much more costly than a spacer kit. But roller rockers would be nice (y).

No, the stock lifters won't work. I thought that since they're essentially a hydraulic lifter, they would have an oil port to at least lubricate the bottom of the solid push rod, but no.

We can find a way around the lubrication issue I'm sure. Just include an oil Galley in our rocker rail thing piece. Honestly I feel like if I had a junk ass 2.9 I could get something together. I have access to a CNC mill and a manual lathe. There's gotta be a way. Really I need some drawings of the factory rocker setup and a conventional 302 rocker setup. Then I'd have some numbers to work with. Ya know.

Yeah, if you have access to a mill and lathe that would be cool. But like you said, you kinda need a 2.9 to experiment on.

LOL! With my luck I'd get there to find somebody else pulling them off first!
