Got a Gen 3 G 17 this weekend. so far I like it. it only came with one extra mag, but it did come with a fairly nice case and cleaning brush/ rod and a firearm lock.

the firearm lock is the type that goes through the ejection port and the magazine well. I am concerned on using this as a long term solution (more than a few hours) as keeping the slide locked in the back position keeps the recoil spring compressed.

Any thoughts on this?

My next major purchase (tax return...) will be a biometric safe to store it in. I will then have quick access if needed, and also it will be safe (no pun intended) from my (curious and destructive) 5 year old.

Check it out :)

not an option. Not with a 5 year old that *will* explore things on his own, and if there is even a chance...Not worth it man, not worth it.

In addition to potentialy losing one of my kids (or other family members)
We have way to many jackass politicians that want to take our 2nd amendment rights away, and a headline of "5 year old gets ahold of parents gun and fataly shoots himself" will be a huge ammo for them to take those rights away.

When I had my G26, I have left in the locked-to-the-rear position all afternoon and never had a problem. As for the politicians, :annoyed: :flipoff:.

What holster did you get or have you chosen one yet? I have a Alien Gear Cloak Tuck, http://aliengearholsters.com/alien-gear-cloak-tuck-iwb-holster-inside-the-waistband.html. I am currently looking for a good belt as well. I may good CrossBreed on that one. :icon_confused:

It is legal to hunt with 300 BO in rifle form in IN now. Limited to a 10 round mag though with a 16" barrel. Currently shopping around for a complete upper.

I would love to build another, I just can't figure out what more I would need out of one...

I probably should go ahead and grab another lower if I bump into one, I have a bad feeling they will be hard to come by soon.

Need specs on the first, it does look good.

I would love to get an AK but whenever I run into one the prices are ridiculous. I wish I would have snagged a WASR when they were $450.

Here is what what I was dreaming about building last time grew into, 7.62x39 16" AR.

And I have another stripped lower, it might grow into a 6.5G for my fiance... after that I am done I swear. :icon_twisted:

I just picked up 2 stripped lowers, G43 (single stack 9mm) and Colt Pocketlite 380 for the wife. The wife my G43 so I guess I will buy another one. I am not complaining.

In Glock I Trust.
