Ya know... I like this little truck a bunch more then I thought I would. 40 mpg's sounds pretty good too.

They put a lot of thought into the bed system... I sure hope they have stuff like this on the next gen Ranger.
Same. I still wish there was a reg cab/long bed version, but this meets the needs of a lot of people. And at that price it seems like a steal to me.

Yup if this thing started over 20 grand it was gonna flop. I'm glad they stuck to keeping it cheap.

Toonces drives a Ranger . . . . just not very well.
Found this size comparison in a news article this morning:

61153

Sorry, but I despise all new vehicles. But, if I was inclined to buy something new, I'd be looking hard at this one.

I've owned some new vehicles... but I've been driving older stuff for a long time. I think I'm ready for one last new vehicle.

It's going to be a toss up between the Bronco or the next gen Ranger. I will still have an older one or two to play around with but we would like to travel and see the the US... I don't see the wife doing that in one of my clunkers.

If it had a frame and RWD I'd be tempted. But as it sits I don't see it being any better than my 09 so meh.

Just think of it as a Fiesta with a bed.

As we've pretty much known for awhile now, it's FWD standard, unibody, shares a platform with Escape/Bronco Sport, etc.

What we didn't know is that in standard form it comes as a hybrid with 40mpg, that it starts at $20k, and that it's very close in size and capability to the older rangers that many of us here love. You can opt for non hybrid 2.5 ecoboost/awd powertrain and higher trim levels for mid $20s. I'm not expecting it to be a big hit around here, but honestly it's pretty impressive for the price, and the size/capability is just about right for those of us that have survived with Rangers for this long

I like it way more than I was expecting. That hybrid platform will make for a really nice little work truck. The price point is excellent. As much as people won't want to admit, this is the real modern replacement for the ranger.

For what it is... I like it.

I could totally see my daughter and future husband with one of these... or a Bronco Sport.

Maverick could get kinda tight on the inside...

For as much wider on the outside as a new Ranger is compared to a old one they don't feel much wider on the inside. I suppose there is more crash protection in the doors so they are thicker.

Apply the same theory to a more narrow carcass... the walls are movin' in.

I think the Maverick will do well... I need more hoss though.

Its probably better to be self deprecating than self defecating.
You’d be surprised how well an AWD with open diffs can get around. My CR-Vs were Billy Goats in the snow and ice. Not to bad on moderate trails like fire roads. The suspension travel and road clearance was the biggest concerns.
Oh I'm familiar, I daily'd lifted subarus for years. I wish I had some pictures left of places I managed to get them in to lol.

Your daughters future husband? Or are you making more changes in your life than just moving? 😋

I do kinda like it... kinda looks like it should be a Chevy though

Yeah... not life changes of that kind for me Mr. BLMPKN

They do a lot of hiking/biking etc... Every year they travel to one of our National Parks and camp for vacation. This little truck would be perfect for them. Last year they did it in a Prius.
