I have a 10" skillet that I've owned for probably 25 years, a 12" round griddle, and a dutch oven, all Lodge. The dutch oven is great for making tomato sauce.
Best way to clean old rusty ones I've seen is to spray them good with oven cleaner, put it in a garbage bag and leave it in your basement or garage overnight, spray it again the next day and put it back in the bag, do it again for a third day, then scrub it clean.
I wash mine with regular dish soap, it doesn't hurt them, then heat it back up on the stove, spray it with Pam and wipe with a paper towel and let it cool down before I out it away.
