what, about how the new hemi's are just a marketing scheme because they dont have hemispherical combustion chambers that dubbed those engines a 'hemi' anyways? its a bunch of crap and most of america is stupid enough to buy into it, im sure they are making money on it.

know whats funny...technically, the 1.9's in my escorts are "hemi" engines. ive been wanting to find some dodge "hemi" emblems to stick on the sides just to piss off the dodge guys.

It's a strong engine with decent displacement.

nah the only way the one next to it would be nice is if it had a round blue oval and the letters F-250 on it

I try not to bag on dodge because they are the only ones that make trucks look like trucks anymore. I mean look at the new F-150's. They are about scraping off the ground.

Dodge half tons have decent ground clearance and ride height. i like the older style dodge pickup's better though. Sorry but i have to admit they are tough trucks.

the newer f-150's have a lot more ground clearance than the newer fullsize chevs.

The newer Chevy Silverado really, truly, absolutely sucks! It is one of the worst looking trucks I have ever seen. The new Colorado x2. :bad:

I drove GM's for years, but they really went downhill.

I wouldn't give ten cents for a hemi. Dodge with a Cummins on the other hand is an awesome truck. I had an '02 2500 and got about the same mileage as I do with my Ranger, but the extra $.50+ per gallon was killing me. I also didn't really need the awesome power anymore. Let me tell you, 505 ft/lbs. of torque will get your attention!

As far as the plates, maybe the guy is a pain in the ass, so his wife bought the plates:derisive:

Shoot your Cummins is no match for a 300-6. And neither is a real Hemi either.

i built a nasty 300 straight 6 for my 93 ford...on the motor i was puttin out 479hp at 4100 rpm's, and 534 ft lbs, at 2600 rpm's

358cid Nascar engine makes 530ft#, and that's most likely on an engine dyno. The horsepower is 770 @ 9,000rpm and that works out to about 185psi MEP--where a DOHC motor with all the bells and whistles would see about 165psi.

Edit: Here's an INDY Car motor--183cid, 670hp @ 10,000rpm on 100% ethynol. That's 300psi and no turbo--just 4-valves per with all the technical crap in the world.

Of course the 300-6 can make over 300psi MEP with it's almost 500hp at only 4000rpm so it's really going to kick some NASCAR ass if you can just get the revs up a bit.

Oh yeah, cool link I just found. Maybe I'll look up an Indy car now (did it).
