drives a stick shift ranger
yup, the rocker arm issue is still on going.

i was dead on planning to get the gladiator and the guys on jeepforum turned me around because of the 3.6.

yes, with the tow package, the maverick can pull 4k but that is still fairly light when my 04 ranger can tow 5600. i love the maverick but don't love the light weight towing ability. i really wish trucks came ready to tow and you didn't have to add junk to make them do normal truck things

If you want a Ranger and want to get away from the big screen, a later 2019+ Ranger with the STX package might be worth a look. You won't have the 2.7 option but the 2.3 has quite a bit of scoot in them. They might even have some that are certified used, so you still have a warranty. Most of those are leased vehicles, so the previous owner has to meet certain preventative maintenance requirements and stay under a certain mileage or they pay a penalty. And there will be less expensive and lose less market value as soon as you drive off the lot.

Wasnt the 3.6 rocker issue fixed after 2014? Thats what the jeep forums aeem to think.

Nevermind...that was the head issue.

Shit....well atleast if mine starts ticking i can pretend its got a 2.9
And if it starts leaking oil like a 2.9, it needs a oil cooler/filter assembly. Dorman makes metal ones that work great. :icon_thumby:

Oil cooler fills the "valley" full of oil which overflows eventually, usually over the back.

Yeah thats all fine.

Its just a slight weep around the front crank seal, usually i wouldnt worry but damnit im getting atleast one warranty claim.

Besides unlike most GC owners i check my oil...it doesnt even leak enough to register on the stick lol

If it's not registering on the dipsrick it could in fact be leaking quite a lot...

You know what i mean.

It always is full. Unless its gonna go full on 2.9 and is dumping coolant in the oil

The $$ on a new model Sport & the FX4 (XLT) 4 door with lots of legroom was much lower than I ever expected. $38k for the Sport & $43k for the FX4, both with lockers in the rear. Not Torsen lockers though......

IMO a lot more bang per buck than a Bronco. Especially now that Bronco takeoff stuff fits so you can Sasquatch the front of your Ranger for like less than a grand with alignment.
