Tantalum Capacitors Are Polarized

This is what happens when a Tantalum capacitor is placed the wrong way, and the polarity is reversed:

Impressive. most caps just go pop and thats the end of it. cept for the bad smell.

btw replacing caps from china is a good bet in any power supply repair or monitor repair.

Tantalums are a different animal, it's the field on the plates that create the dielectric layer.......

There are good capacitor suppliers from China, and there are also bad ones.....
