I have a '99, 3.0L. Has anyone installed a rear tailpipe turbo on their Ranger? Where did you get the kit? How difficult was it to install?

What in gods name is the point unless you have a rear engine car? The turbo lag would be measured in minutes instead of seconds. Unless its a drag car with a trans brake and line lock you can rev until it's spooled before launching it would be pointless.

A tail pipe turbo, if you were able to even get it to function would be very disappointing. There is a reason good, proven system cost as much as they do.

Tailpipe turbos do work well... I've built systems for them. In rear engine super cars.

Powernation put this turbo system on an old police crown vic and gained 130+hp with some fuel mods, also. Was thinking about doing the same.

I’ve said it before about these remote turbo setups... They’re like built-in traction control - you should start seeing the boost around 3rd gear.

It's your truck and your money. But there is a reason it hasnt caught on. I'm not saying they don't add power. The plus is that the air has time to cool off before it reaches the engine. The minus is spool time is tremendous.

IIRC, theres a few bed mounted setups floating around on old threads on here.

no because no download (6).jpg

i am going to break with the main consensus ...

hell yeah do it. building a 2 gallon or so oil tank with a ce pump to feed it, with it dumping in tank works well. psi switch to light...and get it.

its stupid easy and cheap. at first........muh ha ha ha ha ha..... great learning tool. really....

sure it has lag....but well chosen components and some wrap mitigates things to useable for the most part....and you will flat smoke any stock ranger in races longer then 400 feet.

on edit.....be weary of white text....
