So here's the deal, I've got an 01 edge so I have 2 bulb tail lights and I'm gonna be putting up a bar to replace them using trailer lights and I want to run separate brake a signal lights. I'm trying to essentially convert from the 2 bulb to 3 bulb setup and I've searched but found no answer. Can I take the wire harness from a 3 bulb truck and plug and play? from what I can remember my tail lights have 3 wires going to them which I assume are power, ground and signal. How is this done?

Heres a pic if you can see it

You need to find the wire diagram for inder your dash and splice in for the individual wires up there and run them back to where they are needed.

I haven't looked into it, but my guess is you would need to get the multifunction switch assembly from the steering column of a 3-bulb truck (probably '98 or '99 being most likely to be compatible). Then of course the tail light wiring harness from the switch out to the rear of the truck (and maybe the wiring from the brake pedal switch will need to be modified too, not sure).

I seem to recall some previous posts about going the opposite way (going from 3-bulbs to 2-bulbs) so maybe you might be able to glean some info from that if you search back a ways. Wiring diagrams for both setups are your friend here.
