Ok guys..I did thw hydraulic setup on my 2000 t5 conversion. It "works"
HOWEVER.. it will never work for track duty how I drive. Has anyone successfully converted a 98+ clutch setup to the old cable style for the t5 like thw foxbodys use?

A race spec fluid might do wonders if you're overheating the fluid and causing erratic clutch actuation. I drive my hydraulic (Tilton 6000 series slave) setup like I stole it every single time I'm in it and have never had a bit of a problem other than a bad throwout bearing.

Did you run an external slave? I could see having problems with those being so close to the exhaust..

The only reason I'd do it any different is because the throwout bearing can only be bought from Tilton, they're $50 a pop Chinese bearings, and I had to pull the trans to replace it early-on because of it. The bearings can't be sourced from anywhere else either. They're a special flat-faced bearing. Very odd. It was weeping fluid, which Tilton said could happen but should go away, and it has quit since then. I figured out that I had the threaded adjuster sleeve set wrong by a few thousandths once the clutch broke in, and it was enough to wear out the bearing. Since then it's been perfect, but the Chinese bearing does make a little whine sometimes, making me wonder all over again.

The Tilton 6000 series slave is top f'n notch billet beauty though. If it weren't for that damn Chinese throwout bearing. I think that part of it is that like many Chinese bearings, they're shipped without enough grease inside them.

On my setup, which is the popular f550 master and 280z external slave , clutch engagement is to close to the floor.

I think ramcharger and fabworks has close to the same setup as you and I don't recall them having that issue.

Hmmm... not sure what the hell is going on with mine then. I've definitely bled the system properly. It's just super close to thw floor..like ONLY an inch or so coming up then it engages.
The clutch peddle has to be all the way on thw floor before it even thinks about going into gear

Why did you use a f550 master instead of a regular ranger one?I think they both are using the ranger master though?last time I knew anyways.maybe get in contact with one of those 2 guys.
