The 1354m transfer case is the one we all want but hard to come by.

You can always hack and tap, and just run a shaft with a slip.

I had electric BW1354 in my Ranger. Tom Woods (I f'n hate the hell out of them) made an adaptor to use the 3 ball style/ cv / razeppa / wtf-ever you call it to a flat flange, to be used with another bolt on flange style yoke.

What I'm gettin at is that there might be some after market products out there to fix your problem. A slip yoke eliminator kit or what not. I have no good tech knowledge of the earlier rangers, but look around.

I'd look for a 1354M. The biggest catch with that is that there is no shift lever that will bolt right up with the FM145. If you really want to lift and wheel I'd get the M5OD trans and swap it in anyway. If you can find one of those with a manual t-case then you will be good to go.
