So i'm looking around for a pair of new headlights, and i've settled on Sylvania. I am really interested if any of you guys have ever used the cool blue lights that they sell, and your opinions on them. I Love the blue look in headlights, but I have read around that it's hard to see at dusk. Is this true? and if so, should I just stick with the silverstar ultras?

If you can't go through it or around it, then go over it.
yeah they suck. I got Silverstar ultras and they have a slight blue hue to them but the cool blue and not near bright enough.

The regular Silverstars suck. I've never tried the Ultras, I can't say much about them.

I have found that the Silverstars are not that good either. In my other car I tried them a couple times. They would barely last a year. Same with a friend of mine. And I know, you are going to say make sure the bulbs are clean. Believe me I did. Decided to take the bulbs that came with the car (which I saved) and put them back in. 7 year old bulbs and still going.

If someone can recomend a good HID-look halogen bulb, please do. Is there a bulb out there that is made with the tint as part of the glass and not just coated on?

Nokya, Luminics, or PIAA. Don't get their 100w versions. Keep it at 55w.

WHY DO I KEEP BUYING DODGES?!?!?
According to the packaging, the Silverstar Ultras are supposed to be a short life, but I've been running a set for over 3 years now.... I don't see the blue but a friend I was following about a mile or so behind said they look blue. I just got them because I like the brightest bulb I can get.

I don't think that you're supposed to run a HID light bulb w/o a kit are you?

I had the same experience. They came out with the "cool blue" crap before the silverstars were released, and I tried them back then and honestly could NOT tell the difference between a normal halogen in terms of color or brightness.

I do notice better output with the silverstars, and they are a "whiter" light. I'm happy with them.

I haven't tried the SilverStar Ultra's yet.

Boggin, what vehicle are those HID's installed on? Is that in your 94 ranger's headlight housings?

If possible I'd definitely go with HID's, from what I've used and seen the Silverstar's are a waste of money

Well at the moment, i can't afford a good, high/low $150 HID kit. I just want a better bulb than normal halogens.
