My sway bar links both broke off at the top where they bolt to the sway bar. As a tempo. fix, I pushed the sway bar up to where it would be when the front suspension was fully bottomed out. So far, I am not really missing my sway bar, mainly because it seems that individual wheel travel is much better. So, I have a few options.Do I remove the sway bar and remove the links, or do I get new sway bar links and bushings (bushings were bad anyways). I could go either way, as I dont take corners that quickly and don't haul much. Opinions are appreciated! (The problem is on my 99 truck, again! I'm thinking about just driving my mint 2000 and making the 99 an offroad basher.)

I already got the bar off. What an easy job! I'm gonna have to cut the links off, though. I hate rust!

Yep, I love my 2000. Definitely the favorite of my two trucks. How many miles on yours? Mines a fleetside as well. I had a hell of a time finding a regular cab 4.0 4wd fleetside, so when this one turned up, even though I wanted a stick, I bought it. It has 105,000 miles and runs like new. I also love that huge stainless front skidplate it has. Its also a 4.10 LSD 8.8. What a great truck! And it still has the sway bar and links intact!

Yeah, I may do a custom bumper, and get some 15x8 machined AR rims and 31x10.50's. But nothing major....yet!

A sway bar works to prevent body roll.

People who drive aggressively notice them more

They do much of their job in initial turn in.

But if you EVER drive your ranger heavily loaded you'll quickly realize that without it the truck can be downright dangerous

Yeah, thats the disease of customizing your truck! I think I'm gonna do minor mods. to my 99 1st. , and if I like them and they dont give me too much trouble, than that makes them a candidate for placement on my beloved 2000!
