I was under the impression that most synthetic oil has the same suspension coefficient as conventional oil, and therefore needs to be changed at the same interval.

True but the viscosity generally holds up better so you can go longer if you want. I run synthetic but change at the factory recommended intervals.

ya i don't know if i'll wait 7,500 miles to change the oil cause it would take me so long to drive that much. I've had my truck for about 5-6 months now i think, and i don't even think i've driven 2000 miles yet, If i have its not my that much. Would you say its safe to change the oil once a year? I would probably only drive 7,500 miles a year but as far as i understand you want to change it about every 6 months right?

Oil will break down just sitting in the engine too. In your case I don't see much benefit from using synthetic. I would just use a quality conventional oil like Pennzoil or Motorcraft and change it every 6 months.

Not sure about the synthetic, it may be valvoline, but I know the conventional isn't.

I changed from NAPA oil to valvoline and it made a huge difference.
