Can you put a 90TM 1994 4.0 in place of a 95TM 96 4.0....not sure which vehicle the 94 engine came from but it will be going into a Ford ranger

Youre going from an OBD II motor/electronics to an EECIV engine/electronics.

Itll bolt in and hook up mechanically, but the ECMs are different and probably wiring to.

I think you use the 94 long block and put the 96 intake manifolds, injectors, throttle body and all that stuff on to the 94 it works.

Wasn't 95 when they changed heads/pistons to make the O2 sensors work better or something? I'm sure it'll run. Just wondering if that will cause any quirks?
