anything is possible with enough custom work, a skyline RB26 or RB25 would be sick in a ranger though gotta say

I was seriously considering a 4.3L Chev V6 for my '88 Ranger project truck. I was basically searching for the right donor vehicle when I came across an '87 Turbo Coupe and instead decided to go with a 2.3L turbo.

The 4.3L is a solid engine with tons of aftermarket support and is usually readily available for cheap from local junkyards, unlike a Skyline mill which is going to run you well into the thousands of dollars.

Some fab skill and wiring voodoo will be required, but you would have a very unique truck when finished. Plus it would grind the usual "Holier than Thou" purists in all the right ways, which I always recommend!

4.3 is a great engine. have a 95 s10 blazer myself and that thing will smoke the tires at will, and i mean my 31'' tires. plus they sound nice too. just watch out for the trannys. 95 sucked as far as trannys. wow that sounded a little gay. lol

The 3.0L from the skyline is a WIDE motor. Out of the box you could have 300+HP with just a bit of tuning alone. Few upgrades and you could have 600+HP

I've thought of this and picking up a turbo 3.0L from a 300ZX won't break the bank. the TT skyline however will.

after having seen a Rolls Royce Merlin aircraft engine shoehorned into a 57 chevy I will conceed that nearly anything is possible.

PRACTICAL is an Entirely seperate discussion.

And suggesting a "chubby" engine into a ranger is a crime
regarded as heresy here at TRS, you do know how Heretics
are punished don't you?

If you don't already trust me you don't really want to.
You'll discover that there are things you (sadly) cannot
"unknow" in life...
