Yeah I have seen his posts. Just concerned on him bumping this thread. If he does need an ear or a place to vent, we are here. Goes for all y'all too. I would rather you reach out than hear that you took your life because you thought there was no one to turn to. These last three years have been hell on just about everyones mental health. Reach out to someone, don't think that "I'll be fine. I can handle it" that may be true, but it can be a lot easier to get through it if you share the burden. PM if you don't want to be public but do reach out.

That was me. Was perusing my activity when I saw this was thread was dormant for a while. Didn't want it to get too old.

Hello all, I am flattered you guys are still concerned about me. I am still alive, barely at times, I am. I had a fall on my head a couple weeks ago and had a major concussion that caused my memory to go dark..I have been healing slowly...my Rebecca was with me in the hospital, heard her voice as she spoke to me a few times..i miss her so very much. Spending time in the mountains where it's quiet is what I need. Wanna let you guys know I am still around.

Thank you for your time and support.

Definitely take care with a concussion! Seems like it’s been going around, I had two in a short time period last year and an uncle as well as mom’s best friend also ended up with severe concussions from falls. It’s not an easy thing to deal with at all and anyone that hasn’t been through it doesn’t seem to understand. You look normal but things are still scrambled inside.

Chin up though, we are here for you, we are all glad you’re still around, think everyone enjoys at least the nice pictures you’re always posting

Look at the bright side, memory loss may not be so bad....look at it as a fresh start. I got some memories I wouldn't mind losing...

When I had my main fall in 2019 that caused my brain injury I lost around 75%of my memory and it has been a real pain in the ass since then. There are memories I am glad that are gone, yet there are alot I wanna remember, I can't. Recently with this injury It hard to remember much of anything. The Dr said I have one more major fall to my head, I will not survive.

Hang in there @mtnrgr!!!! Sounds like you've had enough ruff stuff for a life time. I'm so sorry.

This thread brings to mind something that I thought of doing a general PSA.

If one finds himself facing mental health issues, sometimes the most basic things can be overlooked, even by professionals. The first thing to consider should be a general health checkup. There are many things that can effect the brain. Hormone levels for one (eg. thyroid, insulin, testosterone). A guy might think of low testosterone as just effecting libido (which can be depressing), but it does more than that. And a note: a GP might be a good place to start, but are often not really up to addressing the endocrine system.

I know a doctor that shrugged of a friend's depression and other mental issues, suggesting past traumas. A simple blood test, should he had ordered one, would have shown her blood glucose levels above 800. Surprised she survived! Addressed that issue and her mental issues left.

And the list goes on. Cardiac problems, a build up of toxins, bad gut flora, etc.

Just a thought of where one might begin if unfortunate to face such troubles. Would have saved me some bad experience if I had done so. And brain issues are so frustrating. You feel like you should be able to control what's going on up there all the while knowing you can't.

Had another bad fall last night landing on the right side of my head, now it's swollen with a couple of nasty cuts by my right eye. Going to see my doctor tomorrow morning to see what is recommended I do. Vision is blurry, and can't remember anything. So sick and tired of this. Will keep you guys informed as I can.

Holy crap man take it easy, do you remember how you fell?

Not being sarcastic, but maybe consider some kind of headgear. throw it on like a baseball cap when you get up to go around. Maybe a foreman style hard hat.
