ok I searched threw the forums and technical info and couldn't find what I was looking for. The question is, doing the V8 swap on a 94 ranger. How difficult is it to get the stock 4.0 tach to work with the 5.0, or is this an impossible thing.

No, for sure not impossible, just a matter of cost.
Google: Universal Tachometer Signal Interface

That's the expensive option

What year 5.0?

I think the '91-'94 Explorer tach had a jumper on the back for V6 or V8 once the V8 was an option, Rangers don't have this since V8 was never an option.
Full size Bronco's had V8s not sure how the face plate matches up with '94 Ranger, but probably only cost $10-$20 from a wrecker

ok. yeah not going to spend that kinda of money lol. the 5.0 came out of a 89 F-250. i have since switched it from EFI to carb. Ill Check into the explorers and see if i can find a junker with a tach. is it easy to change the jump on the tach from explorers.

The Explorers didn't get the 5.0 until 95 and that is a different style dash and cluster than the 94s.
