Hi,

So i bought a 1988 radio. It has a lot of static so I got a new antenna and installed that.

The static didn't go away. I figured out that I can turn the volume knob and at one particular spot, the radio clears up.

I don't know why this is, can anyone help? Do I need a new stock radio?

I like the stock ones. Thanks.

Yes, reads like a radio issue.

If the static happens with engine off then for sure a radio problem.

If static only happens when engine is running and static changes with engine RPMs then add a condenser to the Coil's "+" terminal or replace the one that is there and make sure it's case is Grounded
