I have a 1990 ranger with a 2.9 liter v6. Is the 5 speed tranny include 4 speeds and an over drive or did ford do anything like that? The transmission is supposed to be a 5 speed for later models beyond when ford quit making the 2.9 in 1992. The question is, if the tranny is for the later model engines will that cause the starter to be out of line because the later engines had different size flywheels. It keep knocking teeth off the bendix because there is not enough slack between the bendix and the fly wheel. Need help. And thank you very much

PS where is the serial number located on the transmission

I have already answered this exact question, for you, in another thread.

First of all. You’re posting in the wrong section

Second. This is the 3rd thread you’ve started on the same question. If you still continue to have an issue. Post An update in your current thread. Do not start another one
