I just talked to one of the Techs out at DJM.. I asked about welding steering stops on the Dream Beams.. He said it was ok as long as they were clean..

one option is to weld on a threaded bung and use a bolt and jam nut as an adjustable stop.

Brian, do you hear of many people having a problem due to not having steering stops? I am about to install the DJM beams on my 86. I really don't want to mess up the factory powdercoating, but am wandering if I should make some before I install the beams. I'm not running huge tires and there is plenty of space behind the wheels to I don't believe that I have a need to worry about it. IIRC I never hit the factory stops (or anything else) on the 84 I have with the same wheels and tires that will be going on this 86.

I've never added any onto the beams before with or without air ride.
