I have a 2003 ford ranger stepside. It's pretty basic lil truck, nothing fancy. The steering column is not adjustable. Are there issues with the steering columns in these trucks?????????? It's hard to explain, But its a kind of tapping noise, plus i can feel it when i hold the steering wheel. It drives me insane.

My older Bronco does this. I discovered the bushing where the shaft comes out of the column before it goes to the steering box is worn out. If you want to check yours, lift the hood, and grab the steering shaft between the steering box and where it comes out of the column and try to move it up and down.
