Well I was talking to a friend who is sadly going to scrap his 79 f150 highboy when all that's wrong is some body damage. But I'm buying his axles off him for 250. (Front dana 44 and rear 9 inch) what other things would I need off the truck such as tie rods, steering components etc. I will be narrowing these axles

First off, that's a steal for those parts.

I would take off as much stuff as you can. The things of most importance for your SAS are:

Front axle
Radius arms
Radius arm brackets
Coil buckets
any connecting brakelines that you can salvage
Steering Gear box
Pitman arm
Tracbar/panhard bracket/mount
Tracbar/panhard (you will need new lengths, but keeping old parts can be useful)
Tie-rod crossbar (connecting the knuckles)
Draglink
Rear axle
Driveshafts (can't hurt)

So, there's your list of basic parts to salvage off the truck.

Good luck. Come back here and post pics when you get the parts and when you're finished with the swap.

I'd grab the tires and wheels too. Nothing like having the ability to roll it around when your done!

Thanks for the feedback. Yes its a great deal and I will be getting them very soon. And I would grab the wheels and tires but there's only 3 matching wheels do to a blow out and the other is a tiny pizza cutter steely. And the 3 matching tires are bald. Not worth it haha

Bah, get the whole thing and repair the body damage. Of course I love the challenge of a SAS but if it's just body damage....keep it rollin!

The only thing about full width is I want to be able to make it look kinda like its meant to be. And it has to be street legal

With the right offset wheels full width can and will be street legal...

I bought fiberglass fender flares for mine. I was skeptical about how it would look with front and rear flared fenders but it's unique and they look pretty good!
